Synopsis: Horror-thriller. An enormous man-eating great white shark starts killing swimmers around Amity Island on the American east coast. The local mayor, Larry Vaughn, plays down the initial deaths, keen to keep Amity an attractive summer resort, but after a disaster on 4th July, he agrees to let the police chief Martin Brody hire tough local fisherman Quint to hunt and kill the shark. Along with expert oceanographer Matt Hooper they set off, but they become the hunted when the shark attacks Quint's boat.
